The city of Pohang will host the Homi Peninsula Canola Flower Festival from April 5 to 6 at the Homigot Sunrise Square, offering a chance to fully embrace the spirit of spring. Under the theme “The Most Beautiful and Radiant Moment”, the festival will provide various attractions amidst a breathtaking sea of yellow canola flowers.

The festival kicks off with a traditional parade led by a military band and a grand flag procession, followed by a balloon performance symbolizing messages of hope for the new season. Other highlights include a Canola Flower Music Festival, a Canola Flower Photo Contest, and various cultural events.
In addition, hands-on activities using canola flowers and booths promoting and selling local agricultural products will be available, offering visitors a rich and enjoyable experience.
A unique feature of the agricultural product booths is the nostalgic market-style setup, catering to local vendors and seniors, contributing to the revitalization of the local economy.
Moreover, the festival will promote distinctive foods and products made from scenic crops while emphasizing its significance as Pohang's first eco-friendly event with the use of reusable containers.
A special attraction is the craft beer brewed from Homigot barley, paired with a one-of-a-kind experience where a robot serves the beer, blending cutting-edge technology with traditional agricultural products for a unique visitor experience.
The canola flowers are expected to bloom in full bloom from early April, when the opening ceremony is held, and they are expected to be able to meet the canola flowers in full bloom by mid-April.
Pohang Mayor Lee Kang-deok said, "We hope that the opening ceremony of the canola flower on the Homi Peninsula will be established as a new cultural event that takes into account local co-prosperity and eco-friendly factors beyond a simple flower festival," adding, "I hope many citizens and tourists will join us to enjoy the atmosphere of spring at Homigot filled with canola flowers."
