Geumsan-gun was honored as an "Asian Festival City" at the 2025 Asian Pinnacle Awards and Asian Festival Cities Conference hosted by the World Festival Association at the Hwabaek Convention Center in Gyeongju, Gyeongsangbuk-do, on the 20th.
This selection as an “Asia Festival City” follows Geumsan-gun’s recognition as a “Festival City of Korea” last year, marking yet another remarkable achievement. It strengthens the county’s brand image and lays a solid foundation for its future designation as a “World Festival City.”
Geumsan-gun is hosting the Geumsan World Ginseng Festival, a representative industrial festival in the country, as well as the Bogoksan Mountain Cherry Blossom Festival, which is held using the nation's largest mountain cherry blossom community, and the Geumsan Samgyetang Festival, which is considered a representative health food in the summer, which received good reviews in the designation of the Asian Festival City.
In addition, the Geumsan World Ginseng Festival will be awarded the Best PR & Marketing Award on March 21, in recognition of its outstanding efforts to creatively and sensorially convey the festival’s theme, as well as the health benefits and symbolic significance of Geumsan ginseng.
The 2025 Asian Pinnacle Awards and Asian Festival Cities Conference will be held from the 18th to the 21st with more than 200 world festival experts and officials from 12 countries, including the United States, Japan, China, Thailand, the Philippines, and Malaysia.
In particular, it provided a meaningful place to share information and trends, including the Asian festival city designation ceremony, as well as the festival success strategies of world-class festival cities using world cultural heritage and new night economy.
On the 20th, Park Beom-in (박범인), the governor of Geumsan-gun, highlighted the efficacy of Geumsan Ginseng under the theme of "The Story of Family Love Raising with Excitement, Taste, and Impression, Geumsan World Ginseng Festival!" and made a keynote announcement on the competitiveness of the festival.
Governor Park Beom-in (박범인 군수) stated, “We are delighted that Geumsan-gun has been designated as an ‘Asia Festival City’ following its selection as a ‘Festival City of Korea.’” He added, “We will not remain confined to the limitations of local festivals but will do our utmost to earn recognition as a ‘World Festival City’ by developing unique and differentiated content and promoting active exchange with other global festival cities.”
