With 200 days remaining until the 2025 Cheongju Craft Biennale, the 'Building the World' project has officially begun
The Cheongju Craft Biennale Organizing Committee( Organizing Committee Chairman Lee Beom-seok 이범석, Mayor of Cheongju) held a D-200 celebration event on the 13th of the month, marking the countdown to the Biennale. Around 300 citizens, including key officials, attended the event.

The committee revealed the official poster and announced the goals of 350,000 visitors and participation from 70 countries. The poster features impressive architectural typography, visualizing the theme 'Building the World' with basic geometric shapes.
They emphasized their commitment to achieving these goals based on past visitor trends and Cheongju's influence in the international craft community.

The event also introduced the 'Building Project,' a pre-promotion program exploring various meanings of 'building,' including 'writing' with best-selling author Cha In-pyo. He gave a lecture on his novel "If We Ever Look at the Same Star," which deals with the issue of comfort women and is now a mandatory read at Oxford University.
Participants were moved by Cha's discussion of his writing journey and the deeper meanings of forgiveness and healing.
Additionally, the event saw the first gathering of the 'Next Generation Ambassadors-fourteenPotent' initiative, appointing 14 teams to promote the Biennale, including groups from local nurseries and schools.
The Biennale aims to integrate the future generations in its promotional efforts and will include projects on various forms of 'building,' such as houses, clothes, and food. The 2025 Cheongju Craft Biennale will be held from September 4 to November 2 at the Cultural Factory complex.
