Buyeo County's (부여군) Achievements in Attracting Investment (투자유치) in 2024

Building a Foundation for a Global Small Giant City Buyeo County (Mayor Park Jeong-hyun) announced the “Top 10 Initiatives that Shined in 2024” on December 5, highlighting major achievements in the county’s administration for the year.

Among these, the results in the economic, industrial, and future growth sectors are as follows:

Economic and Industrial Achievements:

- Buyeo County’s new leap forward with the designation of the 'Opportunity Development Special Zone.'

- The attraction of 65 billion KRW in investment from renewable energy companies.

- Creation of 52.7 billion KRW in added value through the Goodtre Pay program.

These initiatives will focus on attracting advanced industries, such as secondary batteries, to promote job creation. Goodtre Pay has been recognized for supporting local small businesses and driving the stable growth of the regional economy.

Environmental Achievements:

- Securing 13 billion KRW for the vegan leather bioindustry, a future food source.

- Winning 47.1 billion KRW in a public competition for a biogas facility, transforming it from an undesirable facility into a much-anticipated one.

These projects are expected to play a significant role in sustainable development by producing eco-friendly energy and recycling resources. The county will also actively pursue the attraction of bio-based companies in connection with the Opportunity Development Special Zone.

Administrative Achievements: Securing the largest ever budget of 148.1 billion KRW for balanced regional development projects in South Chungcheong Province. This achievement is particularly meaningful as it will create future food sources for the next five years. Improvements in transparency have also boosted administrative trust, contributing to the attraction of businesses and tourists. Additionally, various new initiatives, such as securing sales channels for Buyeo chestnuts through collaboration with Lotte Wellfood, have been launched. These efforts are aimed at enhancing citizens' welfare and promoting sustainable regional development.
