From October 14 to 18, 2024, the World Trade Center in Dubai hosted the successful GITEX GLOBAL 2024 alongside the global startup event, Expand North Star.
YanaTrip, a travel agency specializing in the Middle East, led a delegation of six graduate students recognized as outstanding presenters at the '24 Digital Innovation Talent Symposium' selected by the Korea Information and Communication Planning Evaluation Agency and the Korea Information Industry Association. The program included training and exploration activities.
Participants engaged with the GITEX exhibition and Expand North Star, combining their research with real-world ideas. They also visited the Dubai Innovation Center and Abu Dhabi's Masdar City to draw inspiration from global innovation hotspots.
Jong-Min Lee, a PhD candidate in computer vision at Sungkyunkwan University, remarked, "The vast scale of GITEX allowed me to gauge the size of the Middle Eastern market. I learned valuable strategies for local partner development and collaboration through YanaTrip's CEO, George Cho."
GITEX GLOBAL, held annually in Dubai, is one of the largest information and communication technology exhibitions in the world, featuring over 6,000 participating companies and attracting 187,000 visitors (as of 2023). George Cho stated, "The ideas generated by South Korea's innovative talents at Expand North Star will contribute to the growth of Korea's information and communication industry and the global startup ecosystem."
