The Yuseong District Office, Mayor Jung Yong-rae, conducted an international fam tour on October 12, 2024, to showcase Yuseong Oncheon to young people and foreign tourists. This tour was designed around the concept of "Bleisure," a blend of Business and Leisure, aligning with the recently rebranded Yuseong Oncheon initiative, "You On."
Twelve participants from seven different countries, took part in the tour. The foreign participants are expected to promote the allure of Yuseong Oncheon through viral marketing and social media.
Yuseong Oncheon is conveniently located in the city, making it an ideal spot for "bleisure" travelers to enjoy both work and relaxation. The area boasts numerous hotels equipped with MICE facilities, alongside the pleasant Gapsa River nearby, providing a refreshing environment.
During the tour, participants began their day with a seminar at the Intercity Hotel before enjoying tea time at Gyeryong Star Park, often referred to as the central park of Yuseong Oncheon. They later visited the large spa facility at Kyunghwa Hall and embraced the clear autumn weather with running and dancing along the Gapsa River.
Participants expressed their amazement at the unique combination of hot springs, mountains, and rivers in the urban setting. "Yuseong city offers a variety of amenities, making it an ideal place for business travelers to blend work with leisure," they remarked. Vanessa Gayramar from the Philippines, who attended with her 6-year-old child, noted, "I discovered that this is a safe place to bring my baby."
From October 11 to 27, the Yuseong District Office is hosting the Yuseong Oncheon Travel Week and will open a pop-up store aimed at boosting the local economy, providing accommodation subsidies, cultural content programs, and fair tourism initiatives, among various other benefits and events.
Mayor Jung Yong-rae emphasized the importance of promoting the charm of Yuseong Oncheon during the travel week, stating, "We aim to strengthen the city brand through Yuseong's unique content and transform it into a trendy cultural city that attracts young people from around the world."
