Buyeo County, under the leadership of Mayor Park Jeong-hyun, has secured a disaster response budget of 1.3 billion won through the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's Local Love Gift Certificate issuance support program. This initiative aims to assist residents and small businesses affected by the heavy rains in July and to stimulate the local economy.
The entire disaster response budget is funded by the national government and will be used to provide additional incentives for the local currency. Consequently, from September to October, the county will offer an enhanced benefit of up to 20%—an increase from the current 10% incentive—until the budget is exhausted.
Users of Goodtrae Pay will receive a total benefit of 20% through both a 10% top-up incentive and a 10% consumption incentive, applicable only at merchant locations with monthly sales of 40 million won or less. Additionally, the monthly top-up limit has been raised from 700,000 won to 1 million won.
This timely incentive support policy from the county is expected to invigorate the sluggish domestic economy during September and October, coinciding with the Chuseok holiday and the Baekje Cultural Festival, breathing new life into traditional markets and local businesses.
Mayor Park Jeong-hyun stated, “Buyeo County is uniquely positioned to offer a 20% incentive in South Chungcheong Province amid this special disaster situation. We hope this support will significantly aid residents struggling due to the heavy rains.”
