Returning to the place after 40 years?
I am the guide and driver of this tour. As Daejeon City's first tour guide and interpreter, it has been 40 years since I was in charge of guiding foreigners at the 1993 Daejeon Expo. However, I returned to Buyeo this time with many new foreign friends! They are Grant and Tumi from South Africa, Edelweiss and Riza from the Philippines, and Han from Vietnam.
Buyeo Baeje Cultural Complex and Baekma River
Departing from Daejeon at 7:30, we headed to Buyeo Baeje Cultural Complex. We had breakfast at the nearby convenience store because there was no cafe or restaurant in the area.
After breakfast, we went to the Baekma River. At there, we took a Hwangpo sailboat and had a spectacular view of Nakhwaam Rock, experience going on a boat on the river with a breath-taking view from the sides of the river.
In the afternoon, we had lunch at a special local restaurant. With the theme of lotus, the sticky rice was wrapped with lotus leaves on the outside and cooked well, creating a traditional but unique dish.
Workation at Naseong-dong Hanok Village
The concept of this activity was to work, relax, and chill. Workation is a combination of work, meaning work, and vacation, meaning vacation.
We also had the chance to try the Hanbok - a traditional costume of Korean with our foreign participants.
The day passed by happily playing, working, and laughing.
For us, Buyeo - a city of UNESCO cultural heritage, is a great place to play and work.
