On July 14th, Dubai Business Events (DBE) successfully hosted the 2023 Sales Mission at The Westin Chosun Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul. This year's event was particularly significant as it marked the return of local Dubai partners to the gathering after a long hiatus due to the pandemic.
The 2023 DBE Sales Mission aimed to introduce Dubai as the world's premier MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) hub, recognized for its top-tier industrial infrastructure and being ranked as the second safest city by the World Economic Forum and the number one international city by McKinsey & Company. The event provided insights into new tourist attractions, and diverse activities, and facilitated networking and business relationships between Dubai's local partners and Korean MICE stakeholders. Approximately 40 representatives from major Korean corporations, Professional Conference Organizers (PCOs), travel agencies, and other MICE-related professionals participated in the event.
Global publicity channel WalkintoKorea also attended the event, pledging to promote Dubai tourism through various channels, including Korean, English, and Japanese, to reach a broader audience.
During the event, Dubai Tourism presented a variety of event/exhibition venues and group activity information, further emphasizing Dubai's sales strengths. Alongside this, unique events, such as "Perfume Making", were organized for Korean buyers to experience Dubai's essence. The attendees also had the opportunity for one-on-one consultations with Dubai partners.
Ryu Young-mi, the representative of Dubai Tourism, highlighted Dubai's success in hosting Expo 2020 and being awarded first place in the Tripadvisor Traveler's Choice Awards for two consecutive years. She emphasized Dubai's ambition to become an even more competitive MICE hub, aiming to attract 400 events annually by 2025, through its upgraded industrial infrastructure.
The event saw considerable participation from attendees, who enthusiastically entered the draw for various prizes, including round-trip flight tickets, 5-star hotel accommodations, and local tour packages provided by Dubai partners, offering them a chance to directly experience Dubai.
The 2023 DBE Sales Mission not only rekindled the ties between Dubai and Korean MICE professionals but also showcased Dubai's commitment to being a leading destination for global events, enticing participants with its thriving industrial infrastructure and a diverse range of activities for both business and leisure travelers.
The global publicity media, Walkinto Korea, also participated in the event and expressed their commitment to promoting Dubai tourism to local partners in Dubai through various channels. Walkinto Korea is actively utilizing diverse media channels, both domestically and internationally, to showcase the allure and unique features of Dubai to a global audience. With their ability to communicate in multiple languages, such as Korean, English, and Japanese, they aim to proactively spread awareness about Dubai's attractions and draw attention from interested individuals in various countries and cultural regions.
By collaborating with WalkintoKorea, Dubai's tourism industry is expected to gain increased visibility and attract more visitors from Korea and other nations. This partnership will undoubtedly serve as a catalyst for strengthening tourism exchanges and cooperation between Dubai and Korea.
