Here are some of the attractions and festivals that offer free admission during Seollal holidays.
Gyeongbokgung Palace, Deoksugung Palace, Changgyeonggung Palace, Changdeokgung Palace
Enjoy the representative royal palaces of Korea this winter. During the holiday period, a free “Royal Guard Sehwa” drawing giveaway event will take place twice a day at 10:20 and 14:20 after the Royal Guard Changing Ceremony by Gyeongbokgung Palace East Gate. The drawings are said to block misfortune and bring luck. Deoksugung Palace, Changgyeonggung Palace, and Changdeokgung Palace, as well as royal tombs will also offer free admission during the holiday period.

Seoul Lantern Festival
Admire beautiful light sculptures and media façade at the Seoul Lantern Festival.
* Until January 24, 2023 / Gwanghwamun Square
Hope Dream Light Festival
With a theme of “Busan’s Light of Dream and Hope to the World,” various light sculptures and interesting attractions are installed throughout the festival.

Haeundae Light Festival
Beautiful waves of light and light installations can be found along the streets.

Hwaseong Temporary Palace
Temporary Palace at Hwaseong Fortress, a place used by the kings to relax, will be open for free on the day of Seollal, January 23, 2023.
Baekdudaegan National Arboretum in Bonghwa-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do & Sejong National Arboretum in Sejong-si
The national arboretum will be open for free during the holiday period except on the day of Seollal January 22, 2023, which will be closed.
Various museums and art centers run by the local government will also host events.
