The '2022 Gangwon MICE FamTour for Revitalization of Gangwon Incentive Tourism', co-hosted by the Gangwon Tourism Organization and the Korea Tourism Organization, was held in Gangneung on July 1, 2022.
For this Fam Tour, 40 people from companies, associations, and societies supporting MICE events in Gangwon-do were invited and provided an opportunity to experience Gangwon-do's tourism contents and MICE infrastructure. The Fam Tour started in Ojukheon.
Ojukheon in Gangneung, Gangwon Province, is where the most prominent Korean Confucian scholar of the Joseon Dynasty, Yi I, and his mother, Shin Saimdang, were born. The background of the South Korean 5,000 won note is Ojukheon.
Gangneung Gymnasium is a multi-purpose indoor arena located in the coastal city of Gangneung. It was opened in 1998 for ice hockey at the 1999 Asian Winter Games. Curling is a very favored game here, with a large playground under the guidance of a curling coach.
At ARTE MUSEUM GANGNEUNG, the participants experienced perfect immersion with the visual intensity and sensuous sound of works created under the theme of ETERNAL NATURE.
ARTE MUSEUM GANGNEUNG is an immersive media art permanent exhibition hall. 12 colorful media art exhibitions reflecting the regional characteristics of Gangwon-do and Gangneung will be held in the space of more than 4.9 thousand square meters.
"The Gangwon-do Tourism Foundation is doing its best to globalize Gangwon tourism after Corona,” said Yujin Jung, MICE Team leader of the Gangwon-do Tourism Foundation, which hosted the event.
Director Chung Sang-Kyu of the Taekwondo Promotion Foundation, who participated in this event, said, "I would like to thank the Gangwon-do Tourism Foundation for introducing the beautiful Hallyu tourism, Gangneung tourism."
WalkintoKorea, which publishes tourism news, also proposes to promote the tourism of Gangwon-do to the world and attract foreign tourists.
The Gangwon-do Tourism Organization, together with the Korea MICE Association, is in charge of joint marketing of domestic and overseas MICE to attract world-class MICE, support for city tour programs for foreign participants at MICE events, and other projects that require marketing.
