From May 14 to 15, the ‘2022 Korea Festival with KPOP.FLEX’ will be held in Frankfurt, Germany - Korea Tourism Promotion for 80,000 Hallyu Fans in Europe!

The Korea Tourism Organization (President Ahn Young-bae, hereafter referred to as the corporation) and the Consulate General in Frankfurt (Consul General Koh Kyung-Seok) will hold the 'Experience Korea in Korea in advance' at Deutsche Bank Park in Frankfurt, Germany, from May 14 to 15. The '2022 Korea Festival' will be held under the theme of the '2022 Korea Festival' where you can comprehensively experience Hallyu contents.

This event is the largest Hallyu-themed consumer event held in Europe since Corona, and it will be held in conjunction with the K-pop concert ‘KPOP.FLEX’ featuring famous Korean artists such as EXO Kai, NCT Dream, and (G)I-DLE. To promote Korea as a travel destination for about 80,000 Hallyu fans across Europe, including Germany, various attractions of Korea were introduced in three themed halls of ▲Outdoor Central Stage ▲Korea Tourism Promotion Center ▲Korean Corporate Promotion Center, and about 40 PR booths.

Korea's representative performances and consumer participation special events such as the hanbok fashion show, domestic non-verbal performances Sa.dance., and B-boying will be presented on the central outdoor stage. In particular, on the first day of the event, the final stage of the K-pop cover dance will be held in which four teams selected through a preliminary round between 200 teams across Europe will compete fiercely for round-trip air tickets to Korea.

At the Korea Tourism Promotion Center, six local governments in Busan, Incheon, Jeollabuk-do, and Jeollanam-do and travel agencies jointly participate in promoting Korean Wave products for on-site Hallyu fans. By creating a Hallyu content experience booth, we plan to operate a photo zone using the popular Korean dramas Vincenzo and Gae Village Cha Cha Cha and provide a place to experience various Korean cultures through quiz events.

At the last Korean company promotion center, we plan to provide an opportunity to directly sample chicken and ramen and purchase beauty products in collaboration with domestic organizations such as Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation, CJ Food, and Samyang Food, as well as food and cosmetics companies.

“K-content exports have increased by an average of 18.7% on average over the past five years, thanks to the OTT market that has proliferated due to the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Yoo Jin-ho, head of the tourism product department of the corporation. In the future, we will do our best to promote and market Hallyu tourism.”
