SATA(SOUTH ASIAN TRAVEL AWARDS) is a concept of Highrise Pvt Ltd in the Maldives headed by Ismail Hameed, a top personality in the hospitality and events business. Sri Lanka once again is honored to be the hosting nation for SATA 2019 where a two-day networking and gala awards ceremony will take place.
SATA 2019 has a promising number of participants from the Maldives, India, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka as SATA continues to identify and reward the hospitality industry whilst ensuring the region is ‘always ready’ to boost tourism. Sri Lanka once again is honored to be the hosting nation for SATA 2019 where the beautiful city of Galle in the Southern coastline will have Amari Galle opening its doors to the participants in the hospitality industry of the South Asian region where a two-day networking and gala awards ceremony will take place.

They will have opportunities to discuss amongst the hospitality brands where privileged hospitality affiliates will have the platform to pitch to big names in the industry showcasing their ranges of products and services.

They will showcase the award winners exposing them internationally as the finest of South Asian hospitality is celebrated.

2016
The year 2016 marked the inception of the South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) as Sri Lanka was honored to be the hosting nation for SATA 2016.
Graced by the honorable Minister of Tourism John Amaratunga at Mount Lavinia Hotel, Sri Lanka hosted hospitality brands and personalities in the region namely Maldives, India and Sri Lanka for a 2-day event celebrating the finest of South Asian hospitality.
2017
In 2017 with an increasing number of nominees and award winners SATA was celebrated at Equator Village, Gan Island in Maldives with additional nations participating such as Nepal and Bhutan.
2018
The nominees and award winners continued to increase when India hosted SATA in 2018 at the Taj Palace in Mumbai.
